After all the packing up, shredding of way old stuff, and scrubbing our house from top to bottom, I took a much needed trip to my sister's to relax, evaluate life, and hopefully get recharged.
However, on my flight to Ohio, I had a "slight" accident which has sidetracked me immensely. It is another opportunity in my very discombobulated life where I get to practice my "quiet and gentle" attitude. :) I'm digressing....coming back to my middle seat on the plane, I tried to gracefully enter and sit back down in my seat. However, I hit my head on the too low overhead compartment, which caused me to be somewhat surprised so when I actually went forward toward my seat I sort of just twisted and fell into my seat. Nothing graceful about it at all. The small problem is that as the rest of my body twisted, my right leg, below the knee, did not. So with graceful being out of the picture, I tried to suck it up and put on my "nothing is wrong with me" face and prayed that it was just a momentary moment of pain.
It was not. No indeed. I discovered upon getting up and trying to walk the length of the plane that I could not walk and carry my "stuff." Thankfully, one of the flight attendents came to my rescue and carried my stuff for me while I hobbled up the aisle holding on to the seat backs. I had to wait a few minutes for a wheelchair to arrive, but then I was off to pick up my luggage and meet my sister and her husband.
I opted for one of the Urgent Care places rather than an emergency room visit at one of the hospitals. Diagnosis: torn muscle fibers in my right upper calf. UGH!!! What IS it with me and injuries in the last year? This time last year I was still in my cast after surgery on my broken wrist, and this year I am on crutches.
I have the rest of the week here in Ohio before I go home and rescue my husband. While I was gone he moved all the stuff we are keeping, but not keeping in the house while we try to sell it, from the garage to the storage shed. Then the day the photographer was going to come and take the pics of the house, he discovered a leak in our master bedroom bathroom. The house remains off the market until we can get the leak fixed. I don't know. Maybe we are not supposed to sell. Wouldn't that be a LOVELY gift from God?!!
I press on with having a great time even if I am on crutches. Tomorrow we are heading up to Columbus to visit a Turkish market. I absolutely detest hot tea, preferring ice tea, thank you very much. However, several international ladies were over to my sister's one afternoon and fixed their Turkish tea for us. It was to die for!! So now I have to have one of their pots to make the tea in, as well as some Turkish tea leaves. It is very mellow...not bitter at all like some American tea can be. Then we will hit the Center of Technology and Industry which is a hand's on type of place for kids of all ages. Hopefully, there will be wheelchairs available otherwise my view there will be severely limited. ;)
That's it for now everybody. Have a blessed day!

Claire, you poor thing! At least you are on crutches AFTER the house got cleaned up and not before!
I'll pray for a speedy recovery and hope you figure out where God wants you and your new home to be.
Oh, Claire! You have all my sympathy. Injuries are terrible, and you have had more than a fair share. I hope that you recover well, and I will keep praying for you and Jim.
oh dear....will continue praying for all your situations....sending hugs your way...

I'm sorry about your accident, but glad nothing is broken. I pray it will heal quickly and you won't be having any more trouble.
