Vacations and me.....

Even my most loyal reader, probably doesn't know this about me, and we go back many years, but I have evolved.  And for those that are thinking I have gone from being a creationist to supporting the evolutionists let me assure you, I have not.  In fact, my evolving would seem to disprove the evolutionists theory.

You see, evolution is supposed to get better with age.  We improve and become better species.  The way I see it is I better support the 2nd law of thermodynamics.  The 2nd Law of Thermodynamics describes basic principles familiar in everyday life. It is partially a universal law of decay; the ultimate cause of why everything ultimately falls apart and disintegrates over time. Material things are not eternal. Everything appears to change eventually, and chaos increases. Nothing stays as fresh as the day one buys it; clothing becomes faded, threadbare, and ultimately returns to dust.2 Everything ages and wears out. Even death is a manifestation of this law.

I'm sure you are wondering what all of the above has to do with me.  Well, for the past several years I have been falling apart.  Falling apart on vacations!

It all began when we first went on vacation to Puerto Nueva, Mexico.  While there I broke a rib.  Silly, silly.  Never in my wildest dreams did I expect that to become a trend.  The next year we went up to our friend's new cabin with a bunch of other friends and had a great time.  But while there, I leaned over the wooden arm of the chair, reaching...reaching...reaching for our camera and heard a distinct crack in the ribs on my left side.  I went months and while at a doctor's appt. they ordered chest x-rays for something else. They called to say the "something else" wasn't even a problem but I had "multiple broken ribs."  They were so suprised I hadn't complained about them.  LOL!

Then, while I wasn't on vacation, but handing out flyers for our church leading up to Easter, I ever so gracefully tripped over a raised section of sidewalk and flew through the air into the street.  My left leg went in a direction a knee was never supposed to go!  Torn MCL ligament.  Therapy....therapy...This was in April of last year.

Then in July of last year, we go on vacation (again) down to beautiful Sedona, AZ.  I absolutely fell in love with it!!!  But, I digress.  Toward the end of our stay I decided that I would go on a bike ride with my daughter-in-law.  So I go out to practice with the group before actually taking off.  They head off to get lunch but I stay back and practice in the parking lot.  After all it has been a number of years since I've been on a bike.  Well, all of a sudden...actually, it was all in slow motion...I thought to myself, this isn't good.  I fell to my left off the bike, put out my left hand and tried to keep from hitting my head on the asphalt.  Praise the Lord I had a helmut on!  But I heard the crack and looked at my left wrist and it was at such an off angle and had puffed up just like a puffer fish!  Well, a titanium plate and 7 screws later I am as good as new.

Now, this current episode took place on Aug 3, on my way to begin a much needed vacation with my sister.  I was on the plane, somewhere over Kansas, returning to my middle seat (oh UGH!!).  No one was sitting at the window, and the gal that had the aisle seat had gotten up to let me scoot in.  Just let me say that I was as graceful as ever, but I do not know if my body turned and my leg did not, or my leg turned and my body did not, but I heard the pop and felt the pain, and fell into my middle seat.  Now, I do not like attention drawn to myself, so as I sat there assessing the pain, I tried to put on my game face and just suck it up.  The result?  I tore my post cruciate ligament in my right knee.  At the BEGINNING of my vacation!!!

Well, now I am home, and I saw my orthopedic doc (we are beginning to become fast friends) yesterday.  The good news is I am not going to need surgery but I will need therapy.  I begin that this afternoon.

So, are you beginning to understand the principle of the 2nd law of thermodynamics and how I could be a text book example for it, therefore disproving evolution?   Whew!  I hope so.  :D
