A slow day...

Today has been a day for sitting on the front porch, holding hands and watching the world go by. The flag was gently blowing in the breeze and the birds were making melodies. A good day to sit back and take it easy.

Pilot Dad has had a rough two days. He did not go into work the last two nights. Tonight he will not go either. The good thing is they started him on liquid Lortab and a wonderful "Magic Mixer." It's a "cocktail" of three main narcotics and some other stuff which he can use every 4 hours, either by swishing, gargling or swallowing. It is supposed to work wonders according to other patients. Hopefully, this will provide a better night of sleeping.

The painting is beginning to move into the kitchen/family room area. We come and go and each time he has accomplished more and more. I LOVE the color! Now I am just eager to get finished with everything. Patience, patience, patience!

This looking down the hallway, toward the bedrooms, from the kitchen/family room area. The lighting isn't the best but hopefully you can see the greenish tint of the walls.

Sounds like a good day to just rest in Him. A great day to "stop and smell the flowers".

Prayers for you and PD.

I need to introduce you to my friend, June. She and you are a lot alike, dealing with incredibly difficult circumstances with grace and an inspirational faith. Pop over and say, "hi!" Tell her I sent you. :-)

Ah, poor PD. Still, having a day of holding hands and sitting on the porch with his honey...not a bad trade off for feeling so puny.

I'm glad to hear they are helping him out with some drugs. I'm telling you - by the time this is behind you you are going to want to kiss each and every one of those drug developers. I want to every night that I take my heart meds. Where would we be without them???

It sounds so peacful for you two as you sit there holding hands Pilot-mom.
Can you just feel all of your friends praying for you and for Pilot-dad?
I can feel all of them and you praying for my dad.
He has been in such a good mood lately.

What I like about the picture is the light coming in through the window....Love Terry

Dear Pilot Mom,
These are rough days for both of you. I wish you could experience that there are many out there praying for you. I have a best friend here in Norway whose husband are going through much of the same periods. It makes one feel so helpless and angry at the same time. It hurts when good people suffer.
We try to be there. Go for walks. fishing trips and searching for things that might ease. Just now we're making Black Currant flower juice, which is said to be full of vitamines and anti oxydants and stuff.
May the Almighty bless and strengthen you both.

Ooh, is that sort of a sage green? I love the color--very restful and soothing. Where else is that color going?

We'll pray for Uncle Jim at Bible study tonight.

It does sound like a nice peaceful moment admist everything else going on. Peaceful, like the color of your walls. I can see the greenish tent and I love it! Very soothing. You are both in my thoughts and prayers. This helps to see some of the things my father may experience in the very near future. I have also shared with my mother.Take care of yourselves!

I have been following your blogs the past couple of weeks (since I started blogging)...I prayed for you today. It's so good to have a few minutes (or even a day) of peace in the middle of stormy times. Rest well!

Pam? The Pam in CSpgs? So good to hear from you!! Email me and let me know what is going on in your life. Please?!

Jennifer...I've popped over but haven't said "hi" yet. Hopefully more time tomorrow and I definitely will tell her you sent me over! :) Thanks for hooking me up with her.

Yes, Jules, where would we be?! AT HOME with Christ!! Well, not yet for you or for us...

Terry, absolutely I (we) feel all the prayers. We would not be so joyful nor would we be so free of fear if not for prayers of faithful believers going before the throne of grace on our behalf.

Felisol, we have just bought a juicer so we can try juicing fresh fruits and veggies for PD. We are excited about trying it.

Claire, it's going EVERYWHERE! All in the kitchen/dining area and the family room (except the fireplace wall...that will be a little darker) and then the walls going down the stairs. I actually love it so much I want to do the living room and the other two bedrooms. Nothing like over doing it, right?!

Thank you, Hez. I hope what we are sharing will/can be helpful for others who are going through the same experience.

Becky, thank you so much for praying for us. We appreciate everyone who has been faithful to pray. I have enjoyed reading your blog and getting to "know" you. Welcome to the blogging world. It's a pretty great place and full of faithful believers journeying through life with our eyes on our final destination.
