Quote for the day....

Our sense of sin is in proportion to our nearness to God. ~ thomas d. bernard

What a truth! The closer I get to God, the more tainted and stained the world looks. I tried to watch an Emmy higlights thing on tv yesterday, and I had to turn it off. The stars all looked so blemished and sad, and the conversations were so meaningless.

Welcome John, Nomad and Sunshine Blues! Glad you all dropped in! And, of course, Jules, you are welcome, as always! :)

I agree John. The world is in such need and the only hope is in Christ. And tv just magnifies the lost condition!

Well, yes, Nomad, I guess that is one way of stating it! *grin* Most people run around without seeing their sin and therefore, they have no "use" for God.

Sunshine Blue, you have hit the nail on the head! :)

Wow, that is a good quote, Claire! I notice that the more I'm in the Word and in prayer I start to see how unlike God I am because of sin. I think that is actually a good thing because it is humbling and shows us we need His transformation in our lives. Thanks for sharing this!

The more I study the better I know Him. Knowing Him is loving Him. I don't want to be a dissappointment to anyone who loves me that much.
