Friday Feast...

Woohoo! One Hundred Feasts!

Appetizer
On average, approximately how many times per day do you yawn?
Hmmm, I've never given this much thought...maybe one, two?

Soup
What was your most memorable school field trip?
It would have to be a trip to one of the castles in Germany. There was a "ruckus" with several of the boys and I was standing near a wide "wall" (not high enough). They fell onto me pushing me back on the "wall" which overlooked this huge mountain side. It is where my fear of heights began.

Salad
Fill in the blank: I was extremely __in pain ________________ this week.
I've been diagnosed with mononeuritis multiplex.

Main Course
Which color do you think of when you hear the word "soothing"?
Green

Dessert
What is something that, if you had to, you could save up the money to buy within one month?
I guess the key words here are "had to". That would indicate a need to me. So maybe an appliance for the kitchen?

Hiatus...

I'm going to be taking a hiatus for a week or so....at least until after the 4th of July. I'm taking care of hubby whose back is terribly out and is having to do physical therapy. Also, I've got some major cooking to do because Pilot is due in Friday morning and I happen to know he has a humongous appetite!! And, I just need to do a little "freshening" of his room before he plops his gear down in his room for a few days. I will take time to visit all of you, but it may just be in the "lurking" mode rather than the commenting mode. LOL! I'm so bside myself with joy I can hardly stand it!!! Less than a week to go but who on earth is counting? Hee hee....

Friday's Feast

Feast Ninety-Eight

What is a word that you use that would not be considered common?
Pump knot. When I was little and I would bump my head I would tell my sister or my mom, or whoever was around, that I had a "pump knot."

What theme of calendar do you have on your wall this year?
I have two. One with flowers and one with military planes--duh! ;)

Salad
Name 3 people you speak with by telephone a regular basis.
Carolyn, Judy, Marsha

Main Course
If you could buy a new outfit for someone you know - who would it be and what would you purchase for them?
Well, I just did this not too long ago and will probably do it again shortly. That would be Miss Anna Claire, the newest baby in the family! What would I purchase? Well, baby clothes for a little girl!

Dessert
What is the last beverage you drank?
Ice Tea with lots of ice and lots of lemon!

Angry bloggers? Surely not!

Wednesday....

My sister leaves tomorrow morning! *forlorn look* I can hardly believe it is time for her to return home! How I thank V for allowing his bride to be gone 2 weeks! What sacrifice and it has been so appreciated here! We have accomplished a lot; all the while having tons of fun and laughter. I guess it is time to get back in our regular routine.

I went to my orthopedic doctor at the end of May about my forthcoming surgery on my knee (scoping, actually). It was a lot like visiting my eye doctor. He would ask me, "Tell me which hurts worse, #1 (and he would push on the inside of my knee) or #2 (and he then twisted and turned my knee)?" Again, "#1 or ....#2?" Well, number 1 hurt more than #2 so we are not doing the scope at this time but he did give me a cortisone injection. (Yes, it did hurt something terribly but I did survive!)

All along my foot has been bothering me but my knee was hurting much worse, IMHO. Now that my knee is doing sooooo much better however, my foot is now screaming for attention, too. I went to my foot doctor today and came home in a "soft" cast, ace bandage and walking 'boot/shoe'. (Pilot, it's like what they put on my elbow when I had the staph infection.) It has helped to immobilize it. The pain isn't totally gone but it certainly seems like I can cope much better.

Life is always throwing things at us, don't you think? The unexpected arises. Thank goodness for God's grace to being able to deal with life's unexpected issues. May we always look up and out, seeking Him above all.

I think our strawberries are ready to serve before Pilot Dad heads off to work. I've had it rough today....we attended a luncheon at a friend's home today, then went to the foot appt., came home and picked up Pilot Dad, then went out to dinner. Somewhere in there we took a very important phone call from Pilot...(aren't all his important? wink * wink*) and now for dessert.

God Bless each of you! I don't think I've told you how much I appreciate each of you who drop in for a visit...even the "lurkers" out there are appreciated.

9-11 Project..

I've run across a very interesting project that a guy is undertaking to honor the ones lost on 9-11. He is attempting to assign a blogger to each of the 2995 victims and have them do a creative post in memory of that particular person. This will take place on 9-11, 2006. Go read all about it and the few rules he has listed. He is d. challener roe and you can find his blog here.

Pics from Anna Claire's visit to Utah!

Here I am with the four generations of women in my family! I'm the one sitting on my great-grandmother's lap.

Can you believe that is her natural hair color? I hope by the time I'm 90, well, almost 90, that my natural hair color will look like hers!

Right now, I'm just working on getting hair! But you have to remember, I'm only 2.5 months old!

We have had a wonderful girls weekend! My UJ has done very well to have been surrounded by so much estrogen! LOL!

Light blogging....

I'll be blogging lightly over the next several days as my sister is here (and we are having tons of fun) and her daughter and new granddaughter will be arriving Thursday. Yea! So as the time permits and when the mood strikes I'll post but probably not regular.

Just don't forget me! I don't think I could handle that!

Weaknesses should help us to remember our need for God.

I can't get the image out of my head.

Thursday Pilot Dad and I were running a couple of errands. We were stopped at a red light, in the center lane. We watched as a guy in a wheel chair, with only one workable arm, wheeled himself across the street and then crossed over the street we were on. I could not tell if he had amputated legs or just legs that didn't work. We were too far away. Picture in your mind if you will. He begins crossing by wheeling his chair with his left arm pushing on the left wheel. He does this rapidly about three times then immediately crosses his left arm across his body to push the right wheel about twice, to keep his chair going in a fairly straight direction. Then he quickly brings his left arm back to the left wheel...and repeats the whole process. It was quite slow for him and he weaved somewhat but on the whole he did it very well.

Our hearts broke for him as we watched him labor to cross the two streets. I imagine he is on very limited funds and so cannot afford an electric wheel chair. Our thoughts turned toward his spiritual condition, wondering if he knew the Lord? I thought about the cortisone injection I had in my knee on Wednesday which made all the difference in my ability to walk. There, but for the grace of God, go I.

Why was he having to go it alone? Did he have any friends? Where was he going? How long in his life has he had to get around with only one arm to push his wheel chair? So many questions without any answers.

Friday's Feast

Feast Ninety-Six

Appetizer
On a scale of 1 to 10 (with 10 being highest), how funny do you think you are?
I'm not too funny but every once in awhile I do have a moment of 'brilliance.' So, maybe a 4?

Soup
Name a local restaurant you would recommend to a visitor to your town or city.
It used to be Salt City Jail which used to be the original jail for Salt Lake City when it was just starting up. But since it is no longer in business I guess I would recommend Rafael's which has terrific Mexican food.

Salad
What's a lesson you were lucky enough to learn the easy way?
Oh, there are easy ways to learn lessons? It's nice to finally learn that!

Main Course
Where would you like to be 5 years from now?
Hmmm...I wonder, this could mean a lot of things. For instance where do I want to be living in five years? Or, how much weight do I hope I've lost in five years WITHOUT gaining any of it back. Or, financially... so I guess I'll pick the easy one. Where do I want to be living in 5 years....this will sound really hokey but I learned this lesson the HARD way, not the easy way. I want to be right where the Lord wants me to be. Because I do not, I repeat, I do not desire to be out of His will! So, if He still wants me to be in Utah for a purpose, then, *sigh* I will still be here and pleased about it. If He chooses to move us, say like, ah...Auburn, AL then I would rejoice and be content to live there.

Dessert
If you could see the front page of a newspaper from June 2, 2106, what would you imagine the headline might be?
"Major numbers of people have just vanished! The world wide government has announced that there is a logical reason for the massive disappearance of so many people. Among the hysteria the story is slowly getting out. The people which disappeared in a twinkling of an eye were being judged and punished. Everyone who was left behind will be blessed immensely...." Actually I hope the scenario happens MUCH sooner...Come soon, Lord Jesus!!!
