Cheap and proud of it...

I ran across this while browsing through the news tickers. I would have to say this man is definitely cheap....

TCanavansays:

"I'm the cheapest person I know. Instead of buying a house I put an ad in the paper saying, FREE DEMOLITION...I got my pick of a house. I took the house apart and hauled it to my land and rebuilt it. Instead of paying thousands on a mortgage I pay $221.00 a month for the land."

Hmm...that doesn't sound wise to me for some reason. What if he couldn't put it back together right (not necessarily the way it was built though, but you know what I mean..I hope lol). Just hope he's not like Tim the toolman Taylor from Home Improvement.

Hmmm...I think that is brilliant!

Hmph! Why didn't I think of that? Wonder what kinda house he got? Like ancient or just needing to be torn down b/c of selling to someone who didn't want the house, just the land?

I am SOOO curious! :)

Leslee, it isn't for me...it's just a tidbit of news I came across today while browsing. :)

Thanks for dropping in! Come again.

Darn! If only I could drive a nail straight! He pays less for the land than I do for rent on a dinky apartment each month! If you've got the talent - go for it!

I am so amazed by the ingenuity of people. In a lot of ways, I think affluence dampens our creativity.

I remember a story I read once about some pilot pows in a japanese(?) prison camp who secretly assembled a functioning airplane in the attic of their prison out of old parts laying around. If I remember correctly, they actually flew it out of the prison.

I'm pretty sure I couldn't make an airplane from scratch, but it's a fabulous story!
