Rylee's Surgery Details...

RyLee and Nathan are sitting on our sofa eating gingerbread cake (with lemon sauce) as I write. We had a wonderful church service this morning and prayer time where the elders surrounded Nathan and RyLee and led us in prayer for them. Nathan told us today that up till now he has prayed for strength for himself and RyLee to be able to go through whatever happens (and God has answered--they have been amazingly calm and accepting), but now he is begging God to let all go well for RyLee's surgery tomorrow and that no more disabilities will result. The AVM has to be removed one artery at a time. Clip the artery, then monitor blood pressure and stop bleeding (low bp = brain damage, and high bp = hemorrhage); then clip another artery, etc. By Monday evening we will know if she survived surgery, but will not have any news as to her function until Thursday. So I won't email unless I know something new. We are happy that RyLee’s parents, Dave and Chris, and brother Derek came to church today for the first time. They are believers, but don’t seek Christian fellowship. Please pray for Grandma Jayne (Chris’ mother) who is not a believer and has never been interested. She is amazed at how well Nathan and RyLee have handled their problems. RyLee will be hospitalized 7-10 days. Thanks again for sharing this burden with us. Love, Ken & Marcia
