Update...

We have received the phone call from our son, the pilot! God was so good...James only had to fly twice today instead of three times! Yea!

As for the formation flying: scary and exciting... A little nerve racking to be that close to another aircraft but he got his first and second flight over....

He lacks two low level flights, flying 500 ft off the ground....that is considered "cool".

Tomorrow he is scheduled for one flight and then hopefully he will have "two-a-days" next week. He would really like to be able to take his check ride by the end of next week but rather thinks it will be the week after. The Lord is in control...

As for me...I'm glad he is the one doing all the maneuvers and not me! :)

hey there!

thank you for the sweet e-mail! i got over to your blog last night after reading the note, but i has zonked from my day in the city ... i didn't want to leave a totally incoherent comment!

BOY, that is sure thrilling about your son's flying ... and even though you may be scared for him, i bet your motherly pride wins out too! i think mine would ... :o)

i have a SLOW dial-up modem, which doesn't move along as quickly as i read - SO i'll be coming back on a non-work day, to get acquainted by reading archives!

Lord bless you, "Pilot Mom" ... in Him, saija

You're a brave Mom, Claire! I hate to see my little boy fall as he learns to walk. I can't imagine having a son do what yours does! God must think a lot of you to entrust you with such a son!

Wow, you really have to let him go, hugh? I would have a hard time with that. You must be SO proud of him though! And your right, I would rather be on the ground, I would get sick!

Oh Teresa! You have no idea! Most days it's great but every so often, I miss him terribly!!! As does his dad! (Who just happens to be living vicariously through our son!) *laughing* :)
