Changes are a coming....

For someone who loves change, like going a different way every time he gets in the car, my dear hubby hates for the furniture to be changed around. Now, I on the other hand loathe going a different way. When I worked I figured out the fastest way to and from the office. Never changed my route. Why? It was the fastest route...why go a slower way? However, I love, absolutely LOVE to rearrange my furniture. I've always done it myself when DH was out of the house and then he would come home surprised. :D

Well, I've talked him into changing our downstairs family room (the room where I posted pics of my Christmas tree). I've had to talk him into helping me because I have 5 major bookcases that have to be moved in this adventure. Not only that, but we have decided to paint too. He was all for the painting until I told him I wanted to do a wall or two in a really bold color and the rest of the walls in a very light color. Green is my predominate color in my furniture, however, I've accented a lot with red...a burgandy shade. He was adjusting to the idea of a darker green wall but when he came home this morning my friend and neighbor, Judy, was still here talking with me about what I wanted to do. I'd moved from the green idea to the red. Poor hubby. I thought he was going to faint dead on the spot! But, he rallied and did not faint away.

Later this afternoon Judy had been at the paint store for a room she is doing and picked out some color cards for me to view. She brought them by and dropped them off. I've just about decided....I'm not fully sure yet on the pale green....yes, I'm doing a pale green, almost white, but I want to look at some other choices other than what I have. The pic I've included isn't very bright but at least you may have somewhat of an idea, if you use your imagination. Lol!

For me, this is really 'stepping' out there. I love my pastels but I look in the decorating books or go to someone's home who has it all together color wise (like Judy) ;D and I think I would love to have a room like they have. But, then I chicken out. Not this time. I'm going to bravely go where I've never been before....bright, bold and beautiful!!!!

It is good that you are different in these areas.

As someone once said, if you were both alike, one of you would be unnecessary.

Fun post!

Pam painted her living room a BEAUTIFUL shade of green, sort of like the darker shade you have. It's so peaceful-looking. Go for the bold! I am very impressed with your daring! LOL!

Interesting. I too go the most expedient route...to anywhere. ;)

My home too is decorated with heavy red accents, a lot of green, but the walls are a taupe-y/dark beige.

From your color chart, I like the middle shade of green.

I think they are all beautiful and I have to tell you, Claire - I started going with bolder color choices about two years ago and I LOVE them now. I'll snap some pics so you can see!

Hi Claire, been a while. I love it "after" I have accepted the idea of redecorating and following through. I once was shy with color, but after watching HGTV for a year, I could not resist. I have rooms from dark green to apple green, bright red, to beige. Love the color. I have to agree w/Gayla, I like the middle, go for it, you will love it.

Thanks everyone for the encouragement! I need every bit I can get! Lol!

Bobby, it is so good to hear from you again. I wish you would email me and tell me how things are progressing. I love to hear how God is working.

Do it AC. Go for the dark green. It's only paint. If you don't like it...paint it something else.

I like the darker green sample with the burgundy. But I tend to be a "green" person, and a little more courageous when it comes to colour.
You live for renovation and change don't you? ;-)

I'm into green too. It's my favorite color. I've decided to do our bedroom in green and cream.
